毎月送られてくるのに英語だから思わず読まずに本棚に置いちゃうACMとIEEE-CSのマガジン。今の流行りを知るためにもせめて見出しだけでも目を通しておくためにエントリーにあげることにした。せめて、3ヶ月は続きますように。

なお、私の英語力不足が垣間見えると思いますがどうぞ見ないことでお願いします。

Communicationsは始めに見出しが簡単な説明付きで載っている。

  • "the future"というタイトルなので、この未来は読者がみんなご存知の未来を表している。ということは私達みんなの未来ということなのね。
  • 気象学者は、計算機の力を費やすに足る科学的課題が不足しているとはいえない。"〜have no shortage" うわぁー。まわりくどい。あと、" issues on which to expend computer power"という形の関係代名詞の使い方始めてみた。関係代名詞として、不定詞が続くの？
  • "tackle"という単語は、難問に挑戦するという意味だけど、こういう科学系の記事でよく使われているような気がする。

  • われながら英語力ないなぁ。
